Oysters, Lobster Rolls, Fish Fry & Steaks
The Deck Down Under is a chef-driven, independent seafood and steakhouse-style restaurant in Jerome, Michigan with a relaxed tropical tiki vibe. We serve fresh shucked oysters, real lobster rolls, Michigan fish fry, prime rib, hand-cut steaks, tropical cocktails, and chef-inspired seafood worth the drive. Fancy food does not need fancy pants.
Oysters are a major part of who we are at The Deck Down Under. Our oyster program features fresh Chesapeake Bay oysters, Raw Thursday specials, char-grilled oysters, Oysters Rockefeller, fried oysters, steamed oysters, and chef-driven seasonal preparations. We shuck nearly 50,000 oysters a year.
For more than 15 years, The Deck Down Under has built a reputation for one of Michigan’s best fish fry experiences. Our fish fry lineup includes lake perch, beer battered cod, fried catfish, fish and chips, and fresh seafood platters prepared with proper technique, clean flavor, and consistent execution. Served every day, not just Friday.
Our lobster rolls are built with 100% real lobster and absolutely no filler. Choose the warm Connecticut-style lobster roll with butter-poached lobster, drawn butter, fresh tarragon, and a grilled split-top bun, or the cold Maine-style lobster roll made with our third-generation family recipe lobster salad. Real lobster, real butter, no shortcuts, and no bull.

The Deck is more than seafood. Our kitchen also serves prime rib, hand-cut steaks, sirloin features, ribeye dinners, Steak Oscar, crab cakes, burgers, seasonal vegetables, scratch-made sides, and rotating chef-driven specials. It is upscale food in a relaxed setting, built for guests who want serious flavor without a stiff dining room.
